- To be respectful, considerate, patient, tolerant and inclusive towards other members, prospective members and members of the public irrespective of age, gender, orientation, nationality, race or religion.
- To not bring the club into disrepute through actions, public statements or on social media
- Take responsibility for making the club a friendly and enjoyable experience.
- To report any inappropriate behaviour swiftly to a member of the Club Committee.
- To pay the appropriate club subscriptions in a timely manner.
- In the eventthat you are selected to play representative matches for the club, to join the English Chess Federation so that your competitive games can be rated.
- To observe the rules of chess.
- To protect and keep secure the club equipment.
- Make an effort sometimes to help setup and/or put away the equipment after a game.
- If playing at home in a pub venue, to buy at least one drink at the bar.
- If playing a competitive match, not to eat a hot meal in the playing area.
- To offer to cover fuel costs if given a lift for a match
